A-I travel agents open to waiving commission

The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) says its 2,400 active, allied and associate members may agree to waive the commission charged on Air India tickets booked by agents if the loss-making airline asks for this. The move could save A-I around Rs 300 crore annually.

Berger Paints to set up new unit in south

India Cements gets nod to raise $100mn

City-based cement major India Cements has received approval for raising around $100 million (Rs 500 crore). The company informed the BSE that the members at the 63rd AGM held today approved the issuance of equity/equity-linked securities in Indian/foreign markets, qualified institutional placement for an amount not exceeding $100 million including premium.
